(Somerset, NJ) – To assist electronic
component manufacturers reduce cost and shorten lead times in the
packaging stage, ITW Dacco now offers a quick turn prototype service
for its thermoformed products. As a business unit of ITW Electronic
Component Packaging Systems, ITW Dacco specializes in thermoformed
products for the electronics industry.
These prototypes for thermoformed trays
are simple one or two pocket type versions of a proposed package
design. By allowing its customers to evaluate tray performance prior
to committing to final package design, ITW delivers cost and
time-efficiencies in the project development cycle. Additionally,
ITW Dacco offers quick turn prototypes on clamshells for printed
circuit boards.
Turnaround times for ITW tray and
clamshell prototypes are determined on a project by project basis,
but generally require one to three days. Costs for the service are
dependent on the specific design and complexity of the
project.
These quick turn prototypes are designed
for electronic OEMs and contract manufacturers. Applications include
populated printed circuit boards, sockets, connectors and integrated
circuit devices.
